Payments & Dispatch time for all orders

It is possible to pay by Credit Card/Debit Card, Paypal, Klarna and Apple Pay on this site.  I am also happy to accept cash on collection if you select that you want to pick up your order (Cambridge CB4, UK).

How to pay:

When you are ready to pay, please click on your cart.  At this point you can choose to use express checkout for PayPal or Apple Pay.  If you would prefer to see all payment options, please select 'checkout' instead.  You will then be prompted to sign in/sign up, enter your address and select delivery option.  Once you have completed entering your details you will see all of the payment options and can choose accordingly.

Apple Pay:

Please note, some customers have reported that their apple pay orders have not been successful. After looking into this, it seems sometimes Apple Pay asks the user to confirm postal address on their check out screen before completing payment. If you are having problems completing an order this may help you.   This website sends an instant email confirmation if your order is successful, so if you have not received this, the order has not gone through.

After you have paid:

You will receive an automated email confirming your order details.   You will then receive a further email once your order is dispatched.

Dispatch time:

  • I always endeavour to post ready made orders as quickly as possible - usually within 1-3 working days*

  •

  • Made to order commissions/personalised items will take longer - I will discuss timescales with you before starting any work to ensure they work for you.

*Occasionally I may extend my dispatch time if I am unwell, away, or if it is very busy.  I will make sure this is clear on my shop home page.  Please only order if you are happy to wait for delayed postage.

All orders come with basic gift wrapping as standard.  If you prefer a no frills approach you can choose recycled wrap at checkout.  I try and ensure all of my wrapping is as environmentally friendly as possible, and I choose items that can be recycled.

UK Shipping

My standard UK shipping is free (sent by standard non-tracked 2nd class - Royal Mail). Recent changes to the UK post system mean that second class items will take longer to be delivered.  Please allow extra time for orders to arrive if you need them for specific dates.

Alternatively, if you would prefer tracked/quicker delivery, then a choice of paid postage options is also available at check out.

Please be aware there may be delays in delivery at peak times like Christmas, or during strike action.  This is outside of my control.

**IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR MY CUSTOMERS IN THE USA - 12 September 2025**

USA

After having to temporarily suspend shipping to the US in August due to the new tariffs and uncertainty about how to apply the changes, I am now very happy to say I am able to shop to the US again.  Royal Mail are now offering a PDDP (Postal Delivered Duties Paid) postal option where sellers can pre pay customs charges while paying postal charges for an order.  This should mean any parcels being sent to the US in this way will clear customs without any issues, and should not incur further charges once they arrive in the US.

When you check out, you will now find that an extra processing fee of 12% is applied to your order.  This is to cover the 10% USA tariff on UK imports and a 2% administrative charge for Pretty Little Mosaics to cover the extra steps involved to process USA orders.

I have spent a lot of time reading up on this, and this is true to the best of my knowledge at this time.  I cannot unfortunately guarantee no further custom charges will be applied once my parcel arrives in the US.  I have done my best to ensure further charges are avoided, but I am afraid I cannot take on any further charges the parcel incurs once it leaves the UK.

I will be monitoring this new shipping process closely and I really appreciate feedback from my lovely US customers, I appreciate your patience while we work through this.

Non EU countries

**IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR MY CUSTOMERS IN CANADA - 29 September 2025**

Shipping to Canada is temporarily suspended as Royal Mail UK is not posting to Canada currently due to the Canadian postal strikes.  I will resume posting as soon as this restriction lifts

I also post to a number of other non EU countries, including Canada (see note above), Australia and New Zealand.

If you live outside the EU, and your country isn't coming up at check out, please contact me and I will check out the postage options for your location and see if I can accommodate you.

EU

I suspended shipping to the EU after the UK left the EU due varying custom rules from country to country, which make it hard to ensure compliance as a small business.    Royal Mail has now set up IOSS postage to some EU countries which means I could post out again.  The registration for an IOSS is £150, then a monthly payment of £85.  Unfortunately this is not sustainable for a small business, so I can't resume shipping to the EU.

Postage charges vary depending on the size and weight of your order.  All orders are sent using Royal Mail's International Tracked and Signed Service so you can keep an eye on your orders progress.  This should take 5-9 working days, but it can take longer.

It is quite complex to work out the correct postage charge so if I find out that your postage will cost a lot more than you have paid I will be in touch with you to see if you would like to proceed still and pay the extra difference.

If you don't wish to, I will refund your order.  Likewise, I will refund you the difference, if your postage turns out to be a lot cheaper than what you've paid.

Please note that there may be additional customs charges to pay when your parcel arrives in your country, I have done my upmost to avoid this.  Pretty Little Mosaics is not liable to pay these.  Please only proceed with an order if you are happy to pay any extra charges that may arise when your parcel is processed in your country.

The time scales I have quoted are set by Royal Mail.  I find their service very efficient, but please be aware that there can be delays with international shipping.

Royal Mail will not investigate any claims for lost international orders until 20 (Europe) or 25 (rest of the world) working days after the due delivery date, so please be aware that if you order does not arrive this is the time scale I will have to work to before I can make a claim on your order.

In the rare event that a parcel is lost I would expect it to be about a month from delivery date before I can claim the money back from Royal Mail and refund you.  To reassure you, I've not had an international parcel go missing to date.
